Inspired Parenting for Adoptive Families: Connecting the Dots Toward Deeper Connection
Tuesday, June 20th 12 Noon - 1:30pm CST via Zoom (
60 minute session, 30 minute Q/A, stay for as long as you can!)

Join international attachment and family trainer Dafna Lender, LCSW as she explains a fascinating and helpful framework for understanding and responding to both our child’s-and our own-baffling behaviors. The Polyvagal Theory is a new way of understanding a child’s behavior from the point of view of the nervous system rather than assuming purposeful misbehavior. This is especially helpful for adoptive families since it focuses on enhancing a child’s sense of safety and connection. You’ll learn techniques ready to use right away! This workshop is relevant for those parenting children of any age. A person wearing glasses and a black shirt Description automatically generated with low confidence.

Dafna Lender, LCSW, is an international trainer and supervisor for practitioners who work with children and families. Dafna’s expertise is drawn from 25 years of attachment work with families in many settings: at risk after school programs, therapeutic foster care, in-home crisis stabilization, residential care and private practice. Dafna’s style is combining the light-hearted with the profound by bringing a playful, intense and passionate presence to every encounter. Dafna is author of “Integrative Attachment Family Therapy” and the co-author of “Theraplay the Practitioner’s Guide”. Free of charge and open to the community, feel free to share! This event is made possible by a generous donation from the Rubens Family Foundation.
