Too many children feel hurt, angry and disconnected from their parents; and too many parents feel discouraged that their child-rearing methods aren't working. Many parent-child therapies focus on improving behaviors without addressing the fundamental underlying issues: attachment and trauma. Parents may seek professional help, but become discouraged when recommended interventions don't work.
This 100% online workshop offers a different perspective that focuses on supporting the physiological and non-verbal bond between the parent and child with the aim of improving the relationship. Using two forms of attachment-based interventions: dyadic developmental psychotherapy and theraplay, participants learn to improve emotional regulation, connection, well-being between parents and children, and guide parents in their work of repairing family trauma.
